Playa del Carmen - Mexico

About 10 years ago, Playa del Carmen was a small village with some hundred inhabitants most of them living from fishing. Today, Playa is an impressive fast growing city with about 100.000 inhabitants. The city has not lost its Mexican charm besides being the 2nd biggest tourist destinations after Cancun.

Many small and family run hotels and charming restaurants form Playa del Carmen. The centre is Quinta Avenida (5 th street) with many bars, night clubs and restaurants. Just a minute from the centre, you can find the endless, well-known white Caribbean beach of Playa del Carmen. Here you can swim, relax in the sun, play beach volleyball or go snorkelling or scuba diving. Temperatures are year round very nice with about 260 days of sun per year. As you can say, Playa is the perfect place to combine a language course with a vacation.

Mexico

Mexico is one of the countries with endless histories to be told. Anecdotes from bloody minded Aztekins over proud Mexicans to the famous fiestas are well known around the globe. But Mexico has a lot more to offer. The country is one of the most divers in the world with a unique combination of culture and nature. Next to Playa del Carmen you will find archaeological sites right next to the Caribbean. It is easy to combine Maya sites with a scuba diving trip in the Caribbean.

Northern Mexico is also worth a visit with many interesting destinations such as Mexico City and Guadalajara, the Pacific coast with whales passing by. Come to Mexico, learn Spanish and have a great time.

In brief

  • Charming town on the beach
