Santo Domingo de Heredia

Santo Domingo de Heredia is a charming town situated between San José and Heredia in the heart of Central America. The town has a population of 60,000 inhabitants who are known for their friendliness and hospitality. The peacefulness of this lovely little town with its park, beautiful churches and quiet streets will make you feel at ease straight away. There are also plenty of bars, restaurants and pubs, so you will always find something to do in the evenings.

Santo Domingo is situated in the centre of the ‘Valle Central’ (Central Valley), but away from the busy centre of San José. Our language school’s location in this more tranquil area offers the perfect setting for a language course. You can also reach the capital San José and the university city of Heredia in just a few minutes by bus. There are also plenty of Internet cafés, bars, restaurants and cinemas just a short distance away.

The ideal location of the village of Santo Domingo also makes it a great starting point for tours all around the country.

Heredia

The university city of Heredia has a population of 180,000 inhabitants and a vibrant student community. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, pubs, nightclubs, cinemas and shops all around this area. However, the city still manages to retain a small town feel to it; it is not too busy and you can still find your way around with ease.

Heredia is also famous for its many small, beautiful parks. The surrounding province is characterised by numerous coffee plantations, and the Poas and Barva Volcanoes.

San José

San José, the cosmopolitan capital of Costa Rica (500,000 inhabitants), is situated in the heart of the country, in the middle of the Valle Central (Central Valley). From this picturesque valley, you can enjoy an exquisite view of countless mountain peaks that frame San José and its surroundings. Numerous museums, theaters, bars, and restaurants as well as the vibrant nightlife of the „Ticos,“ the inhabitants of Costa Rica, provide exciting entertainment. In addition, you can embark on excursions to destinations throughout the country from San José. Within a few hours, you can reach both the Pacific as well as the Atlantic oceans.
