Enrolment

Please use the enrolment form provided by us for booking your language course. Your travel booking with Academia Columbus will be binding for us as soon as you have received written confirmation of your enrolment. As a rule, you will receive confirmation within the shortest time possible.

Payment

After receiving written confirmation of your booking, a 10% deposit of the total amount (maximum 250 €) is due per participant. The deposit is subtracted from the amount of the final payment. The outstanding balance of your course fees (90% of the total amount) is due three weeks before your departure. Please transfer both payments to our bank account.

When a customer defaults on payment of either the deposit or outstanding balance according to previous agreement of payment deadlines and notification of late payment, Academia Columbus is entitled to rescind the contract and claim compensation for failure to fulfill obligations.

Travel Documents

You will receive informational materials and travel documents approximately three weeks before your departure. These include the language school and respective accommodation (host family, hotel, etc.) addresses.

National Holidays

On national holidays of the respective country, classes will not be held and there will be no compensation for instructions hours lost. Please refer to the respective school pages for the exact dates of national holidays.

Services

Contractually declared services are quoted on our website and specifically the price lists as well as the hereupon referenced information in the written confirmation of enrolment. The information contained in the catalogue is binding for Academia Columbus as it constitutes the basis of the travel contract.

Exclusion of Claims and Expiration

The contractual legal obligation for payment of damages, which does not include bodily harm, is limited up to three times of travel price as long as damages of client was neither caused deliberately nor roughly negligently by the organizer. If individual performances are simply mediated than Academia Columbus will only be liable for lawful mediation of performances and not for the performance contribution by itself.

All considerable claims against the organizer on the basis of default must be asserted within one month of the contractually intended completion of the language tour. In the interest of the customer this should be performed in writing. After this deadline the participant's claims will only be considered valid if he was unable to adhere to this time limit independent of negligence.

Withdrawal of Participation Before Departure

You can withdraw from your language tour at any time without having to provide reasons for this decision. In your own interests and to avoid misunderstandings, we encourage you to declare your withdrawal in a written statement. If a participant withdraws from the language tour up to four weeks before the scheduled departure, a processing fee in the amount of 10% of the total language tour fees will be assessed. When a withdrawal is received within 2 to 4 weeks before the scheduled departure, a processing fee in the amount of 25% of the total language tour fees will be assessed. When a withdrawal is received less than 2 weeks before the scheduled departure, a processing fee in the amount of 50% of the total language tour fees will be assessed. Should a customer fail to depart for a scheduled language tour or if the cancellation is received less than 3 days prior to arrival, the cancellation feeamounts to 90% of the total language tour fees. Booked services that are not made use of are not refunded. Participants have the right to provide evidence that the organizer's costs are actually less than they are said to be.

Limited Liability

The contractual liability for compensation of damages (not including bodily injury) is limited to the amount of three times the value of the language tour as long as the damage to the customer was neither premeditated nor negligent on the part of the organizer. If particular services are mediated, Academia Columbus is only responsible for the mediation of these services and not for the service provision itself.
